Personal Statement
I began my journey in higher education as a student-athlete, competing in track and field. After college, I briefly pursued a professional running career, but soon discovered my passion for serving others through Social Services. My first position was with Gang Peace, an organization based in Boston, where I worked directly in the inner city providing intervention for families and youth affected by gangs and community violence.
After several years in Boston, I relocated to New York and continued my work in Social Services, this time serving as an in-home specialist supporting families with children with disabilities. I taught children home routines, offered professional guidance to parents, and provided interventions focused on developing daily living skills.
Following four years in New York, I moved to Central California, where I became deeply interested in Special Education. Central California became my home for 18 years — a place where I built my family, got married, and raised seven children. During this time, I completed my certification program and graduate studies, earning a Master’s degree in Education Administration along with a credential in Special Education.
For the past 21 years, I have served as an educator in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Physical Education, and for 8 of those years, I held leadership roles in Administration. In July 2019, I moved to Las Vegas, where I began teaching in the Resource Room at Ira Earl Elementary School. Just five months later, in January 2020, I accepted a position as Assistant Principal.
Recently, my family and I returned to California’s Central Valley. After years in administration, I chose to return to the classroom to rekindle my love for teaching and reconnect with the heart of education—working directly with students and their families.

I have worked within the social work industry since I was 18 years old working for Hansel and Gretel daycare’s in the early 2000s
From there, I managed a visitation center working with all walks of life with a full spectrum of adaptive personalities. This was from the inception of the program until the programs end with The County OF FRESNO.
Identical, the role of billing and overseeing management for quality family services one of the largest foster care, agencies, social work agencies and adolescent care home facilities in the central Valley.
